Product Description

Joe and Amy Alton of www.doomandbloom.net, well-known authors in the field of survival, are pleased to announce their ground-breaking new project, the Doom and Bloom™ SURVIVAL! board game. Their game is the first survival board game designed by actual survivalists. The game has art by award-winning artists Kurt Miller and Josh Cappel.

Doom and Bloom™’s SURVIVAL! is a board game for 2-4 players (alternative solo and 5-8 players available soon at survivalboardgame.com). It takes place in a post-pandemic world where the survivors are few and the dangers are many. Your mission is to have your character accumulate supplies like food, fuel, weapons, and medical supplies, as well as recruit followers. You’ll travel to scout locations that may serve as a haven in which to start over. There are tough decisions to be made along the way, and there are others that want to take what you have.

In Doom and Bloom™’s SURVIVAL!, there aren’t any! We set out to provide a realistic survival scenario, and despite numerous TV shows and movies, zombies just don’t exist. Pandemics do. We wanted to show that we could put together a fun and challenging game that is based on an event that could actually happen, and its likely aftermath.

  1. I've been waiting for a game like this! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Feb 2015

This game is awesome! Its a ton of fun to play and with a few simple "House Rules" If can be turned into several different kinds of games. Zombies (like Walking Dead), territory-take-over (like Risk) and resource-collection (Like Settlers of Catan), and scenarios (like would your rather). But its simple enough rules allow for lots of modifications for extra long games.

I would love to see the "super-flu" mentioned in the game instructions intro to be incorporated into the gameplay. I wish I could play with more players.

This game was really well thought out I love the logic that was put into it.

I have played it 10 times since I got it almost 3 weeks ago!

  2. Enjoyable Game 4 Star Review

Similar to Settlers of Catan without being a copycat. The boys were disappointed it wasn't more physical, and your chances are based on a roll of the dice, instead of skill. Enjoyable in that you do have to use strategy and planning. LONG playing time, so plan ahead. Hints and suggestions at the bottom of the Event and Attack cards are helpful in maintaining optimism in the face of adversity. The events/challenges/attacks are apropos to what one would expect SHTF, and not outrageous. We will continue to play this as a family, and use it to assist my pre-teen son in understanding why we do what we do (prepping). Looking forward to an expansion pack, for additional players.

Got the game in mail on time. I gave it to the teens during Holidays and they really loved it. They learned fast how to play the game. It was a good teaching moment.:No trading life for resources.smile. Overall great imagination and vision for the game. Thanks Amy.

  6. Enjoyable Board Game 5 Star Review

When the four of us started playing the game, there was the usual learning curve during the first game. By the end of the first game, we all agreed we enjoyed playing, and look forward to playing again.
