Alton’s Antibiotics and Infectious Disease is meant to serve as a guide, in plain English, to assist the medically-prepared individual in their role as medic in disaster, remote, or other austere settings. Based on the Altons’ original writings on both common and epidemic diseases and the use of aquarium and avian antibiotics to treat them, this book is an essential aid to those who find themselves in situations where modern medical systems do not exist.
These situations require the medic to serve as the end of the line with regards to their family’s health off the grid. Homesteaders, outdoorsmen, medical missionaries, and those in the preparedness community will find “Alton’s Antibiotics and Infectious Disease” an indispensable diagnostic and therapeutic tool in circumstances where the ambulance in not just around the corner and the rescue helicopter not just over the horizon.

This is a guide to using human equivalent veterinary medications in emergency and austere settings when the doctor and hospitals are out of service for the long term. There are a limited number of these antibiotics known to be in the same doses and available OTC for future emergency use. Our book covers the names of these antibiotics and how to use them safely in dire emergencies when medical help is just not available. We discuss common and uncommon infectious diseases these veterinary antibiotics can help.

This book is very expensive to ship to Canada, Amazon in Canada does sell it (Amazon is our publisher).

    Great Resource

Posted by Bruce Cranford on 1st Jul 2021

Just received and started reading. From what I've read so far, this is going to be an invaluable resource to our preps! Thankfully we already stocked up on some meds since most of them are now on backorder. Seems other folks are having the same idea as we are in getting ready for what may come. Another nice touch, is they signed my copy of the book! Very cool.

Invaluable information written to be understood by the average public school graduate.

This book tells you why you get sick, how to diagnose the problem, which are the most effective remedies and where to obtain them. Great companion to "The Survival Medicine Handbook" from the same people. You don't have it? For shame! I thought you were prepared!

This is what I have been waiting for!

Posted by Lydia on 14th Feb 2020

This book brought together all of my questions about medicines, dosages, their uses and non prescription substitutes. There is much more information in this book and it is a must have.....I know from personal experience as I live in the bush in Alaska and during the winter it is difficult to get the 130 miles to a doctor or hospital. I have had to treat myself, family and neighbors. My hats off to the Altons for writing their books!!!!!

As a long time paramedic I found this book to be easy to use. It’s informative without requiring a degree in biology.

    Great reading....informative

Posted by Lewis Smith on 30th Dec 2019

I read the book cover to cover in three days-had to digest a lot, and sleep of course...and learned a lot, like which antibiotics I will but first. Be nice to have all this info to hand when/if needed. Along with your medical book and some other things I plan on buying I hope to be prepared. Now to take a Red Cross First Aid class. Thanks for all you do for others.

    Must Have Medical Knowledge

Even though the book is written for the lay person, as a retired RN i've found the information an invaluable refresher. A must have for your Prepper library.
