Sam Splint 36 inches

Sam Splint (real brand name product, not a generic substitute) pliable splint material. Reusable. 36 inches long, FLAT folded. Various sizes can be made from this longer 36" size by folding the Sam Splint into smaller sizes.

You can choose between the standard width or XL width, for no extra cost. The standard width is 4.25 inches wide, the XL is 5.5 inches wide.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

The SAM Splint is a reusable malleable splint that can be properly cleaned and disinfected after use for additional field service and then discarded when worn out. These Care and Maintenance Guideline are recommendations for maximizing the service life of this product. You should always follow the specific cleaning and disinfecting practices dictated by your Medical Director.

CLEANING PROCEDURE

If you decide to re-use the SAM Splint, it should be initially cleaned to remove gross contamination using a cloth or sponge soaked with soap and water, a mild detergent, or a commercial cleaner/disinfectant. Any body fluids, tissue or other soil materials should be thoroughly removed prior to disinfection.

Next prepare a dilution of bleach, such as Clorox, with one part bleach to 9 parts of water for household bleach, or one part bleach to 11 parts of water for concentrated bleach, for a final concentration of 0.625% to 0.7%. Fully immerse the SAM Splint in the diluted bleach ensuring all air bubbles are removed by wiping all surfaces with a clean cloth while in the solution. Allow the SAM Splint to remain submerged in the bleach solution for 10 minutes following wiping. ALWAYS thoroughly rinse the SAM Splint with running water following immersion and then allow to air dry or towel dry before placing it back into service.
